MFG’s Technology Torchbearer Is Recognized by the Industry

MFG made the headlines this year at Composites 2012, the annual convention of the American Composites Manufacturing Association (ACMA). Peter Emrich, MFG’s VP of Technology was singled out for the prestigious Hall of Fame award for career contributions to the industry. Pete has been active in the ACMA as a member, a past recipient of ACMA’s President’s Award, and is the current co-chair of the Communications Committee.

MFG Construction Contributes to Raising of New World Trade Center

MFG Construction Products is working with partner Engineered Devices Corporation (EDC) on forms for the concrete columns for the 3 World Trade Center and hub station in New York City. MFG Joins AWEA Efforts for Government Support of Wind Energy

Wind energy has been a major contributor to MFG’s strength during the past several years, with approximately 700 jobs in five MFG manufacturing plants directly related to this business. A contributing factor to the health of the wind industry has been a tax incentive called the Production Tax Credit (PTC) that allows wind energy to compete with coal and natural gas energy production and encourages development of proven clean energy projects.

MFG West Ships Nacelles for 2-Blade Turbines

MFG West completed and shipped the final units of an initial contract for nacelles to Nordic Windpower that is part of the customer’s new 2-blade 1MW wind turbine generator. Incorporating MFG’s unique “spray-core” technology, these nacelles were subjected to rigorous testing to ensure the structures would meet the environmental requirements such as snow load of 2,000 pounds and anchor point loads of 6,000 pounds.
