In March 2011, Greg Tilton joined MFG as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Although not a composites industry veteran, he is a proven operations executive — most recently running operations for U.S. Cotton. Greg spent 13 years there as part of the senior management team working on top-line growth, managing bottom-line results and developing corporate-wide strategic initiatives. When the company ownership changed, Greg and his wife Gina — who are raising three children in Ohio — were asked to relocate to North Carolina. The opportunity to join MFG and keep their family in the heartland they love was a perfect fit both personally and professionally.
“Greg brings both a depth of experience and youthful perspective that we were seeking to add to our management team,” says Richard Morrison, CEO of MFG. “We believe he will be a very important asset as we strive to stay flexible and profitable in a challenging market.”
His first area of focus is driving the MFG operations that serve the automotive and heavy trucking industries, including guiding the sales organization to generate business growth in these segments. As a member of the senior management team, he has a key role in overall corporate operations as well.
“I love manufacturing — building a team to think through big and small problems and grow companies,” said Tilton. “Tackling the challenges involved with manufacturing, to create value for our customers, teammates and shareholders is what excites me.”
Greg earned an MBA from Kent State University and a BS in electrical engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He also completed the Global Supply Chain Management program at Northwestern University.
