Engineering & Quality Manager - MFG Texas - Gainesville, TX
MFG Texas seeks a highly experienced Engineering & Quality Manager. This unique individual will manage, direct and support both the Engineering and Quality Teams in developing and implementing all engineering/quality processes in the manufacturing of fiber glass composites.
This position requires technical innovation as well as a high level of technical skill in the areas of research, design, analysis, development, and testing of engineering materials as related to fiber glass composites.
Requirements/Responsibilities: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Engineering with emphasis on Composite Engineering, Drafting/AutoCAD, MiniTab, strong MS Office skills, working knowledge of GE reporting systems, ISO9000, LEAN/Six Sigma, technical knowledge AND experience with vacuum infusion molding with epoxy resins, hand lay up and spray lay up of epoxy & polyester resins, compression molding, gelcoat application and surface painting of composite parts. 5+ years of progressively responsible background in areas of product/material testing, inspection for quality assurance and SPC, CCT Certification desired (Certified Composites Technician). Initiate research and development of projects. Create the architecture of the technical solutions with a high degree of integration. Directs and coordinates all work by support personnel and outside groups involving design, development, prototype construction, and test and evaluation for materials in molding trials. Works closely with project groups to assure smooth transition to production via the form of clearly defined technical specifications.
Counsels and trains less senior engineers and technical support personnel in technical areas as required.
Maintains project records and prepares technical, cost, and other reports to show project progress as required. Contributes sound professional advice and creative ideas, concepts, and approaches to new product design, development projects and manufacturing. Keeps abreast of new technologies, finished and raw materials relative to the composites industry. Regularly consults senior management regarding material technologies and advises on strategy of deployment. Senior Staff Engineering Manager possesses a high level of technical and management skills necessary to complete projects, and possesses the ability to direct the activities of other support personnel to meet project/productions objectives.
Bi-lingual (Spanish) with ability to speak/write fluently and capable of documenting complex technical procedures in English/Spanish is HIGHLY DESIRED. Previous experience in blade manufacturing is HIGHLY DESIRED!
Must have 5+ years managing work teams, providing technical direction and coordination of activities for both the Engineering and Quality Control departments. (8+ of less senior engineers, technicians/interns and QC personnel) in a diverse environment. This position reports directly to VP/General Manager and/or Plant Manager. This is a senior level Engineer/Quality Control Manager position with a competitive salary/benefit package.

Senior Process Engineer/Project Manager - Gainesville, TX
Assist in the development and on-going implementation of fiberglass composites manufacturing processes that best utilize available labor, materials, production and engineering needs. Liaison to client engineering departments. Maintain product specifications, quotes, documentation, product trials and material research. Interface with production employees, engineering team and senior staff members to determine process requirements. Develop work instructions to repair damages to client products while in service, transportation, etc. Serve as Lead Engineer in sales and new client interactions. Spearhead new design implementation. Facilitate cost reduction using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology. Assist Engineering Manager with mentoring and training of process engineers. Serve as Project Manager on special projects relative to custom composite tooling units and facility design. Document complex technical procedures in English and Spanish.
Requirements:

This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of product drawings and specifications, bills of materials and manufacturing work instructions that best utilize available labor, materials and production time. Ideal candidate will have a composites manufacturing background and a desire to drive continuous improvement through process and materials improvements.
